Patient Guide

Shower or bathe — you will be given special instructions if needed.

You can brush your teeth and rinse your mouth, but do not swallow any water.

Please leave contact lenses at home and wear your glasses, if possible.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

Please do not use creams, lotions, or perfume.

Please do not wear make-up, artificial nails or nail polish.

Leave valuables such as jewelry, cash, credit cards, checkbooks, rings, watches, purses or billfolds at home.

All body jewelry must be removed. Electrocautery may be used during your procedure and any metal parts could pose a serious burn risk.

If you wear hearing aids, please wear them. They may be removed before surgery.
